Sweden’s Laethora Releases The Light In Which We All Burn Today Featuring Dark Tranquillity guitarist Niklas Sundin and members of progressive metallers The Provenance, Laethora today release their sophomore album entitled The Light In Which We All Burn in North America. Recorded late 2009/early 2010, The Light … features thirteen tracks of violent, intense and iconoclastic death/grind metal performed with the utmost passion and conviction. Their 2007 release, March of the Parasite, was called “a post-modern death metal triumph” by Metal Maniacs and Blabbermouth.net said “March of the Parasite is sure to get high marks from critics and fans across the globe.” Whereas the debut album mainly paid homage to old school death metal, the new material on The Light… is more developed and has a definite voice of its own. From the opening calm-before-the-storm beginning of “Ekpyrosis” to the thrashing rage of “World Deluge” and the open-chord ecstasy of “Humanae”, the album truly shines in its diversity and dedication. The instrumentation is flawlessly executed with an organic and vibrant approach, topped off with Jonatan Nordenstam’s monstrous voice spitting fire and brimstone over a failed humanity. Though firmly rooted in the death/grind tradition, yet challenging and innovative, Laethora's music is an assailing delivery of surging thrusts and darkened melody that will challenge music fans continuously searching for something new and refreshing; Death metal indeed. LAETHORA are: Jonatan Nordenstam - vocals Joakim Rosén - guitars Niklas Sundin - guitars Jonnie Täll - bass Joel Lindell - drums
