Daniel Lioneye, the side project from members of HIM, is gearing up to release VOL. II on April 27th. Consisting of Linde (HIM) on guitars, bass and vocals, Burton (HIM) on keyboards and Bolton (Enochian Crescent) on drums, the band has always embraced breaking boundaries and taking new directions, which is exactly what they did on their sophomore release.
Formed in 2001, Daniel Lioneye's debut album, The King of Rock 'n' Roll, was only released in Finland and Germany and was a "tongue in cheek" psychedelic stoner rock album. Earning the group quite a bit of attention, the band played at handful of festivals in Finland which resulted in the title track being the theme song for Bam Margera's TV show, Viva La Bam. Simply called VOL. II, the band's North American debut is heavier than the band's prior release, making it an extreme rock n' roll album with influences from black metal.

VOL. II Tracklisting:
1. Euroshaman
2. Flatlined
3. Saturnalia
4. Neolithic Way
5. I Saw Myself
6. The Mentat
7. I Have Never Wanted To Be Number One
8. Who Turned The Lights Out

The End Records is excited to announce the latest edition to our roster. Sweethead, the new project from Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens Of The Stone Age, will release their debut self-titled album on May 11th. Named after a Bowie B-Side, Sweethead includes Serrina on vocals, Norm Block on drums (Mark Lanegan Band, Plexi) and Eddie Nappi on bass (Mark Lanegan Band, Handsome).
NME proclaim “Troy has always been the besuited Queen and, with cherrybomb singer Serrina providing the glam and members of the Mark Lanegan Band providing the grit, they may just set the world on fire.” Serrina mixes the fierceness of Chrissie Hynde and Shirley Manson with the playfulness of Debbie Harry, while the band supports her with their driving rock melodies that don’t miss a beat.
Sweethead’s debut contains the slithering rock gem “Traumatized And Dumb," which was previously included on their EP Traumatized and Dumb, which was only released in Europe. From the punk influenced track “Turned Our Backs” to the gritty “City Of Dirt” SWEETHEAD is a potent reminder of the sheer thrills of rock 'n' roll decadence.
Sweethead has spent time on the road with Them Crooked Vultures, Eagles Of Death Metal, Puscifer and Snow Patrol, and plan on spending this year on the road supporting their debut album.

The End Records is very excited to announce that our SXSW showcase will take place on Thursday, March 18th at The Ale House. This year's lineup includes:
Goes Cube (9pm) Creature With The Atom Brain (10pm) Dirty Little Rabbits (11pm) The Candles (12pm) Evan Dando (1am)
Goes Cube has steadily gained attention as one of the most dynamic bands in both their hometown of New York City and beyond. Their music is an intense blend of metal, punk and full-on rock and is performed with an urgency rarely witnessed or experienced anymore. They're simply three friends who are obsessed with making each song heavier, more intense, more melodic and just plain better than the last. The LA Times simply states "This is as loud as loud gets. Brooklyn's latest bellow is a powerful volley for avant-punk... the energy is utterly captured," while Gothamist praise "their live show will make your brain shake, your body move and your soul scream."
Belgian rockers Creature With The Atom Brain recently released their sophomore album TRANSYLVANIA on February 2nd and have been giving Americans a taste of what The AV Club describes as "a slice of fuzzed-out neo-psychedelia of the Witchcraft school, blended with grungy ’90s-style throwback rock and moody keyboard-driven groove" while on tour with Alice In Chains. Kerrang! has gone on to say TRANSYLVANIA is "A laid back fusion of '60s psychedelia, sludgy guitars and spaced out vocals. Wonderfully eerie, "Spinnin' The Black Hole" echoes Queens Of The Stone Age's darker moments, while the title-track wows instantly with its hypnotic grooves."
Dirty Little Rabbits are gearing up to release their self-titled full length debut later this spring. The brain child of Shawn "Clown" Crahan of Slipknot, DLR first made a splash on the scene when they released the SIMON EP last year. Earthy and ethereal, warm and welcoming, with an underlying eeriness, Dirty Little Rabbits' hypnotizing brand of organ-led rock is timeless. With a live show that has been described as 'oddly compelling, spastic in nature and finely executed,' Dirty Little Rabbits have made quite a name for themselves on the road, and has shared the stage with the likes of Stone Sour, Mindless Self Indulgence and Lacuna Coil.
The Candles, which is the first solo project of Josh Lattanzi, encompasses the varied styles and influences he's picked up while recording and touring with artists such as Ben Kweller, Albert Hammond, Jr., Tinted Windows and The Lemonheads. While finishing BETWEEN THE SOUNDS in NYC earlier this January, Josh enlisted one of his many band mates, James Iha to contribute to the track "Anywhere Tonight." The west coast sounds of the '70s that snaked like a vine from Gram Parsons through Evan Dando and Ryan Adams nestle up nicely to Josh on such tunes as "Let Me Down Easy" and "Between The Sounds," while "Here Or Gone" finds the singer delivering a big 'roll down the car windows' chorus that would make Tom Petty smile. BETWEEN THE SOUNDS will be released April 13th.
Evan Dando of The Lemonheads will close out the show, and chances are, if you shout out a song of his you'd like to hear, he'll probably play it! The band's repertoire goes back to 1987 so there will be plenty to choose from. The Lemonheads released a cover album last year entitled VARSHONS which was produced by Gibby Haynes of the Butthole Surfers and includes appearances from Liv Tyler, Kate Moss and John Perry of The Only Ones.
We hope you can make it out to the show, and if you'd like to be added to the guest list, please let me know. This show is open to all badge members on a first-come, first-served basis.

The End Records, under exclusive license from Sony Music Entertainment Germany, is pleased to announce the North American release of Helloween's long awaited album UNARMED - Best Of 25th Anniversary, out March 30th. Helloween, one of the most eminent melodic metal bands worldwide and - along with the Scorpions and Accept - Germany’s ultimate metal export, got their start exactly 25 years ago. A total of eleven headlining world tours took the band all over the globe, and their sensational show at the Monsters Of Rock in Castle Donington in front of more than 100,000 metalheads. Spectacular tours alongside Iron Maiden, Dio and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as their MTV Headbangers Ball US tour with Anthrax and Exodus remain unforgotten. Helloween have sold more than five million records and garnered 14 gold and 6 platinum awards globally, receiving two gold records in Germany. Now Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Sascha Gerstner (guitar), Markus Großkopf (bass) and Daniel Löble (drums) have set out to prove that their great anthems ooze that special Helloween flair even with totally new arrangements. UNARMED – Best Of 25th Anniversary is Helloween’s ‘thank-you’ to millions of fans old and new and will prove their exceptional position on the international metal scene. Instead of putting together a regular greatest hits compilation featuring their most successful tracks to celebrate this anniversary, the five band members completely rearranged the greatest melodies they had written in the course of their career to date. The album features Supercharge’s exceptional saxophonist Albie Donnelly, Hellsongs’s vocalist Harriet Ohlsson, pianist Matthias Ulmer, plus the 70-piece Prague Symphonic Orchestra and the choirs of the Gregorian singers! As a special surprise, Helloween have come up with ‘The Keeper´s Trilogy’ a stunning 17-minute medley of the songs ‘Halloween’, ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys’ and ‘The King For A 1000 Years’, recorded in cooperation with the Prague Symphonic Orchestra and likely to send shivers of delight down the spine of every Helloween fan. UNARMED – Best Of 25th Anniversary sees Helloween commemorate their 25th anniversary in their very own way. “We aren’t one of those bands who like to celebrate themselves,” says Weikath. “We wanted to say thank you in a special way to all our fans who have followed us through the past 25 years - to us, this album stands for an official celebration. We had a lot of fun recording our most important tracks in an entirely new ‘outfit’ and with new arrangements. Now we can’t wait to find out how our fans will react.” Watch the video for "Dr. Stein" here. www.myspace.com/helloween www.helloween.org Twitter.com/helloweenorg

Norwegian quintet Shining are about to unleash their fifth full
length album entitled Blackjazz on February 2, 2010. Their
determination to create new sounds and cross boundaries has only been further
stepped up with their latest ear-crushing achievement.
An
unstoppable force made out of small bits and pieces that hit in the right place
at the right time, Blackjazz is a synchronized launch of attacks in Shining’s hard
hitting hybrid of jazz and metal. Joining forces with the technical prowess and
extensive musical knowledge and experience from renowned producer/engineer Sean
Beavan (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Slayer), Blackjazz
elevates and intensifies the band’s vision with a more extreme sound and an undeniable
aggressiveness and catchiness rarely found in metal. The album also features vocals by Grutle Kjellson (Enslaved) on a cover
of King Crimson’s classic “21st Century Schizoid Man.”
Spanning
the past decade, Shining’s career has caught the attention of press worldwide. Praised by Pitchfork,
All Music Guide, Soundfix, Sonic Frontiers, Jazzwise, Paper Thin Walls, Stylus
and others, The New York Times has
called the band’s progressive metal “a study in coordinated whiplash,” while The BBC go on to say “Shining’s
juggernaut headbanging is orchestrated with intellectual precision.”

New York, NY – Evan Dando, singer, songwriter, and guitarist of The Lemonheads, will be setting out on a solo tour in early 2010 that begins January 29 at Maxwell’s in Hoboken and currently wraps up March 6 back in New York at Mercury Lounge. See all current dates below.
Evan will be performing an intimate set featuring songs from his solo album and plenty of classic Lemonheads tunes along with several inspired covers, including some from his most recent covers album, Varshons (06/09, The End Records). Produced by Butthole Surfers ringleader Gibby Haynes, Varshons was inspired by mix tapes that Gibby used to send to Evan. The collection is filled with strange bedfellows - from G.G. Allin to Texas troubadour Townes Van Zandt and garage rockers The Green Fuz. The Lemonheads make each track their own, with help from actress Liv Tyler, singing back up on Leonard Cohen’s “Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye,” and Kate Moss, who sings over the dance groove of Arling & Cameron’s “Dirty Robot,” which also features lead guitar by John Perry on loan from The Only Ones. “Evan Dando has always had a magic touch with cover songs…the laconic alt-rocker nimbly transforms songs until they sound like they could be his own,” commented The Boston Globe. Spin Magazine stated, “Between ‘Mrs Robinson’ and ‘My Hero Zero,’ covers have accounted for some of the Lemonheads’ most memorable moments.” All Music added, “Varshons is easily the strangest Lemonheads record in maybe two decades and it's not so coincidentally one of their best, perched between the ragged, formless mess of their earliest records and Dando's enduring love for sweetly weathered country-rock.” Evan Dando on tour:Nov 20 – Santiago de Compostela, Spain @ Capitol Nov 21 – Bilbao, Spain @ Kafe Antzokia Nov 23 – Paris, France @ Fleche D’or Nov 24 – Antwerp, Belgium @ Trix Nov 27 – Utrecht, Holland @ Tivoli -Le Guess Who Festival Nov 30 – Munster, Germany @ Gleiss 22 Dec 01 – Cologne, Germany @ Underground Dec 02 – Berlin, Germany @ Magnet Dec 03 – Hamburg, Germany @ Logo Dec 05 – Copenhagen, Denmark @ Vega Dec 06 – Oslo, Norway @ John Dee Dec 07 – Stockholm, Sweden @ Debaser Dec 08 – Gothenburg, Sweden @ Sticky Fingers 2010 US tour: Jan 29 – Hoboken, NJ @ Maxwell’s Jan 30 – New York, NY @ Joe’s Pub Jan 31 – Bordentown, NJ @ The Record Collector store Feb 03 – Allston, MA @ Great Scott Feb 04 – Northampton, MA @ Iron Horse Music Hall Feb 05 – Philadelphia, PA @ M Room Feb 06 – Arlington, VA @ IOTA Club & Café Feb 09 – Charlotte, NC @ Tremont Music Hall Feb 10 – Athens, GA @ 40 Watt Feb 11 – Gainesville, FL @ Common Grounds Feb 12 – Tampa, FL @ Crowbar Feb 13 – Orlando, FL @ The Backbooth Feb 16 – St. Louis, MO @ Old Rock House Feb 17 – Indianapolis, IN @ Radio Radio Feb 18 – Detroit, MI @ Majestic Theatre Feb 19 – Chicago, IL @ Double Door Feb 20 – Minneapolis, MN @ 400 Bar Feb 21 – Omaha, NE @ The Waiting Room Feb 23 – Dallas, TX @ The Prophet Bar Feb 24 – Austin, TX @ Emo’s Alternative Lounging (Outdoor) Feb 27 – Los Angeles, CA @ Hotel Café Feb 28 – San Francisco, CA @ Café Du Nord Mar 03 – Seattle, WA @ Tractor Tavern Mar 06 – New York, NY @ Mercury Lounge www.evandando.co.uk www.myspace.com/thelemonheadswww.thelemonheads.net |

Creature with the Atom Brain will release their sophomore album, TRANSYLVANIA, on February 2, 2010, marking their debut on The End Records. Creature with the Atom Brain, once the solo project of Aldo Strufy (Millionaire, The Mark Lanegan Band) has transformed into a four-piece band consisting of members from Millionaire, Evil Superstars and Mauro and The Grooms. Often compared to acts such as The Thirteenth Floor Elevators and Queens Of The Stone Age, TRANSYLVANIA boasts Creatures’ blend of psychedelia, garage rock and hypnotizing grooves, with what NME describes as “a heady, psychotropic descent into the underworld of drone.” This Is Fake DIY go on to say “Creature With The Atom Brain are one part 'vintage rock' and two parts 'Desert Session', making a burly cocktail of lysergic grunge-fuelled 6 minute guitar romps, with plenty of monster riffage and a hard-edge shine.” TRANSYLVANIA was mixed by Chris Goss (Masters Of Reality, Kyuss and Qotsa). The band is fresh off a European tour with The Dead Weather, and has shared the stage with The Jesus and Mary Chain, Queens Of The Stone Age, and The Butthole Surfers. TRANSYLVANIA track listing:I Rise the Moon The Color of Sundown Something Is Wrong Transylvania Lonely Night Spinnin' the Black Hole Darker Than a Dungeon Sound of Confusion Make Noise The Lonesome Whistle Is That Lady Sniff?
