Atmospheric Progressive Metal
(official site: http://www.ageofsilence.com )

This unique constellation features an all-star lineup from the Norwegian metal scene:

Lazare (Borknagar, Solefald) on vocals, Hellhammer (Mayhem, Winds, Arcturus) on drums, Eikind (Winds / Before The Dawn) on bass, Extant and Kobbergaard (By Pale Light) on guitars, and last but not least, Andy Winter (Winds) on keyboards.

The music on the band’s debut album “Acceleration” can best be described as a mix between thrash metal, progrock, psychedelia and avantgarde insanity. Lyrically Lazare takes a conceptual journey in the vein of The Matrix or Dark City mixed in with some elaborate futuristic thoughts and concepts about issues relating to the stock market, invoices, and the rat race of human life in general.

The follow-up EP “Complications – Trilogy of Intricacy” consists of three tracks that lead the audience through a proverbial shopping trip from hell (or rather, to hell, as fate may have it), with the opening of a new shopping mall the size of Canada, and a televised ceremony of epic proportions attended by the likes of Martin Luther, Ghandi and Mussolini.

As you probably gathered by now, Age of Silence is not for the faint of heart, or for that matter, imagination. The band is currently writing and recording material for a yet to be named third effort. When it will come, nobody knows. It could be today, tomorrow, or yesterday. But one thing is for sure: When it does come, it will most assuredly raise brows among all who decide to lease it!
